The Speaker Stand Option

The Speaker Stand option can be applied to the standard Super Plus or Ultra Platform, and provides four high quality, Tellurium Copper reversible bottom spikes threaded into the bottom of the platform and secured with brass locking nuts. The sharpened side of the spikes is useful for penetrating carpeting in order to provide a superior mechanical ground connection, essential for best results when carpets, and especially thick carpeting, is present. When placing platforms directly onto thick carpeting, this option allows optimal results with virtually all components.

The reversible bottom spikes (one side sharpened to a point and the opposite end machined flat, for hard floors) are made of high strength copper alloy since the spike is of critical importance in mediating the transition of energy from the platform to the greater mechanical "ground" of the floor itself. Copper is used here because copper is the second best mechanical conductor in nature, bettered only by silver, and in this function is superior to steel, brass, and even aluminum.
