Svelte PLUS Platform

"The Thors placed on the Svelte Plus produced a clearly superior result in a few areas. First, imaging was more specific, and this in turn, allowed for an ever more defined soundstage, something these amps were already doing very well. Another area I noticed an immediate and clear improvement in was bass articulation. The Thors were producing superb, tight, and deep bass, but on the Svelte Shelf Plus, bass notes were more precise, with less, if any, overhang. The entire spectrum from mid bass on down benefited from a tighter overall picture."

The Svelte Plus is an expanded version of the Svelte Shelf, with a center foam section twice as thick as the center foam section of the standard Svelte Shelf. In addition, the foam section of the Svelte Plus is protected by textured vinyl edgebanding, similar to that found on the Ultra Platform. Including its polished stainless steel top and bottom, total thickness is approximately 1.125 inches or 2.9 cm.

A more affordable alternative to the Super Plus and Ultra Platforms, the Svelte Plus is a synergistic combination with hard equipment footers and a perfect interface for Symposium Rollerblocks. Doubling the internal foam section increases damping power, isolation effectiveness and rigidity, and allows further benefits in transient preservation, microdynamics, timber resolution and top-to-bottom musicality.

"It has been three days since I installed the shelf [12x14 Svelte Plus Speaker Set under Audiomachina loudspeakers] and I am simply amazed with the level of improvement. I used to feel my sound is excellent except the mid low was a little thin and consequently it sounded a touch cold but now it has full body with a lot of low level details. " - M. T., Hawaii

"I have replaced the Sorbothane hemispheres between my 2" thick slate platform and my homemade turntable stand with Rollerblock Jr devices from Symposium. These made some small, but noticeable differences -- better bass and slightly faster transients. Then, this past Friday, I received from Symposium a 19" x 24" Svelte Plus shelf, which is a beautiful product of polished stainless steel sandwiching some internal materials. ...I can now tap on the plinth or any other part of the turntable (other than the tonearm) and hear absolutely nothing.
In addition, the whole presentation has become much more
3-dimensional with notes hanging in space.
I am really astounded at the difference."

The increase in isolation and damping makes the Svelte Plus an excellent choice for analog turntables (see photo links at left), but its greater effectiveness will be appreciated with all components, including digital players, preamplifiers, amplifiers, power conditioners, and loudspeakers of all types.

Weight capacity is similar to the Svelte Shelf, but with greater rigidity, yielding increased cantilever strength when placed on widely-spaced supports. If uniform bottom support is provided (that is, if the platform is supported at its center as well as at its perimeter), the Svelte Plus will support hundreds or even thousands of pounds without any problem. However, its usefulness is not limited to heavier components, since it is as effective and as much at ease with small components as it is with large loudspeakers. Stock sizes are the same as available with the Svelte Shelf; please call or email for pricing.
